The Coming Collapse

Speaking of Atlas Shrugged, I just got done reading an excellent essay titled Question authority.

I laughed when the author was speaking about us people in the “fly-over country” needing to bond together to pull something from the ashes. Shit, we’ve been doing this for years. Some of us left good jobs, businesses and areas our families had lived in for generations because of the enc(ock)roachment of bureaucracy, government domination and the minions who serve it.

I really liked this paragraph:

This is the chance we have. A dozen, fifty or hundreds of resistance and secessionist entities are going to move into the vacuum left by the great sucking abyss of the FEDGOD collapse. Hundreds of laboratories will emerge to test every variant of political collective and ordered enterprise imaginable. I have little hope for the subjects and somnambulant mental zombies that stumble around the cities of the Left Coast and the Northeast (Vermont and New Hampshire excepted) will do anymore other than instantly resurrect facsimiles of DC patterns of rule and other processes of national socialism but between the Marxist coastlines; the life and times of ordinary Americans will take extraordinary turns to develop from scratch freedom-oriented communities and spasms of spontaneous order. People may finally awaken and look at their neighbors and try to do the right thing. They may seek a system that asks, persuades and cooperates instead of bullies, collectivizes and forces through violent means the shape and texture of human relationships. They will be the vanguard of the men and women who finally awaken from the five millennia fever-dream of enabling various strangers the power of life and death over thousands and millions simply because they have surrendered the most basic right of all; leave us the hell alone.

I heartily endorse this essay and would like to think there are more people like me who will nod, and perchance utter a “fuck yea” while reading it, but I’m guessing even of the limited people who read my blog some have already stopped reading this. But, for those who are still here I’m going to steal that author’s closing line.

If you are still reading this, you are the Resistance.

One more for the “Are You Fucking Kidding Me Files”.

So how does a country make wealth?

I’m an Austrian economics fan, but I’m sure people of other schools of thought on this would be hard pressed to justify destroying homes and infrastructure as a means to make this country richer. However as reported in the British paper The Telegraph That’s what our Moron-in-Chief thinks will work.

“Dozens of US cities may have entire neighbourhoods bulldozed as part of drastic “shrink to survive” proposals being considered by the Obama administration to tackle economic decline.”

There was another piece of news the other day that made me think about Atlas Shrugged but this one is even better.

Not Much to Say

I really don’t have a starting point today so I’m going to wing it. I wouldn’t want to be counted with those who don’t post for extended times (you guys know who you are…………. Erin, and Jacques). As I look back upon what I’ve passed up ranting about in the past few week I’m not really in the mood tonight. That could change but let’s just see where this goes, eh?

OK, I’m back from a stroll over for some smokes, and the best I can come up with…….let’s not get into what’s going to inevitably happen to our local currency……is perceptions.

You know how you think of people you knew years ago and in your mind they don’t change? Now, myself should really know that this isn’t the way it is, right. Hell, I’d probably kick my own ass if I ran into the kid I was twenty years ago, and not because of his idealistic, foolish, socialist, notions. No, just because what he looked like. But, a gal friend of mine who was rather reserved in High school…OK, the way I remember it if I had said “cock” in front of her she might have passed out………..mind you there could have been a smile on her face, but I wouldn’t have noticed. It’s truly amazing what you learn as the years roll past, eh? Did I ever tell you about the nympho I dated when I was 18 that had rape fantasies………..and I said no because “that’s just not right”. huh.

But that’s not here or there, I’ll drag this back to something…….somewhere I was going. That gal who had cockofobia, and I were using the marvel of the internet to try to catch up and I mentioned the doughnut shop she mentioned has a “cockfest” where guys see how many doughnut they can hang on their schlong. I know about it because a gal up there I know keeps trying to get me to go. I broached the topic carefully remembering her as I did in high school. Somewhere along the way I also mentioned a forum where i consider it a little rowdy sometimes. Well what did I know, she thought it was tame. I guess that will show me………but sometimes I’m a slow learner.

I guess we all change, I like to think mine are all for the better, and I would put up a hell of a fight with anyone who says different….there were the two nymphos……… I did say in my life there were two, right? But hell a man has to sleep sometime, right. Alright, I grabbed this thought by the pig-tails and it’s not going off track again, OK?….probably. So twenty years can do some strange things. Hell, looking back more years have past since then than I was aged at the time. You know I’ve always had older friends, just a couple of shots ago (Bar time is OK right?) E & E (no relation) just left the bar and they are both in their 80’s but when I speak with them it seems as if there if is little twinkle in their eyes always hinting “I’ve been there, but I ain’t telling you what’s coming next. Hell, I probably wouldn’t believe them anyhow, looking back at what’s transpired the last twenty years……….. Looking back it’s a blind-side T-bone.

So I was speaking about making the best we can out of what we got, damn the torpedoes, course ……..what’s a course. Whatever we choose it to be……that’s the beauty of it really.

Not bad for a scruffy malcontent reconsidering the definition of predestination….Sometimes I want a pointy hat embroidered with “Wizzard”. Funny thing The Ol’ Lady threatened me with a tat of “Wizzard” next time I’m drunk. I better stop drinking drinking now, it’s 100 miles to the nearest artist but a person can’t be too careful.

The M3 is Back

Mind you, the government isn’t telling us it, but some people are still trying to calculate it as best they can from The fed’s own reports.

For anyone who doesn’t know what the M3 is, here is the Wiki definition:
* M3: M2 + large time deposits, institutional money-market funds, short-term repurchase agreements, along with other larger liquid assets. M3 is no longer published or revealed to the public by the US central bank. However it is estimated by a web site called Shadow Government Statistics.
If you don’t know what the M2 is you best read theWhole entry

Why should anyone care about the M3 you are asking. Well because the M3 and M2 strong inflation link is virtually unquestionable.

The M3 isn’t nearly as bad as I had feared:

But don’t go rushing out and getting further into debt here is some not so good news:

I got these charts at Now and Futures They have all kinds of economic information there, and are well worth the read if you have the time.

I Think Walt Disney Has Possessed Me

A couple of nights ago I had a dream that I was sitting at a table in a coffee shop with Cindy Crawford, the woman that plays Electra, an old High School friend of the female persuasion and my wife. Now, this dream could have taken some really pleasant turns involving lace, vinyl, scented oils and rubber sheets (but no Ol’ Walt doesn’t “roll” that way and) my wife starts going on about how I haven’t been keeping in touch with old friends. I’ve never been on a personal basis with Cindy Crawford or Jennifer Garner, that’s not saying I’d turn them away if they showed up late one light on my doorstep, mind you. But, that old high school friend and I even spent a summer traveling through Europe (with a group) and I thought of us as good friends. As will happen, I haven’t seen or spoken with her since high school.

[Tinny, if you are reading this I suggest you skip the next paragraph]

When we shrugged we followed the 90/10 rule on privacy, well actually we considered going all the way with LLCs or Trusts. We even converted our assets into anonymous financial instruments for this but along the way decided it was too much work and settled on the 90/10. Anyway with the snooping powers the government has been taking over the last five years (what Fourth Amendment?) I feel any privacy shielding we once had against the government has been corrupted. I’m not aware of anyone who might be looking to “settle up” with me, and even if there was I feel I could more than handle them. So, I did something I didn’t think I’d ever do, I joined one of those popular social networking what-have-yous to try to get in touch with some of the people I once considered friends.

I wasn’t able to find the girl I was trying to find but did find “S” who was once a friend of mine also and we start trying to catch up on almost twenty years. She seems to be doing well for herself, mind you she doesn’t seem to have had as interesting time as myself since the old school days (sorry, honey). I guess somewhere in my subconscious I get this silly idea that it’s worse than I thought, and she was fibbing about being married (I’m guessing this came from the lack of husband pictures). Here is where that bastard Walt takes over my sleeping moments again. Last night I dreamt “S” and I were at a really fancy party….actually it was exactly like a Disney Ballroom party. Now, I knew she had made up this husband story so I decided to work a little charm and find her a man. As I was talking up what an awesome gal she was to whom I thought was the best guy there(myself excepted of course) I noticed she was doing the exact same thing to this stunning little redhead on my behalf. We look at each other realization dawning on each of us and both say at the exact same moment (Walt was probably holding the cue cards himself) “Wait, you really are married”. After the laugh track and singing blue birds finished……………OK, those didn’t happen but should have. We round up our respective spouses and all head out to get some dinner and drinks.

I told this dream to my wife this morning and all she says is “I suppose you’re going to go Blog about what an awesome guy you are.” I smile and said I would but I don’t think I could do myself justice.

The government pissed me off yet again!

So we live in Montana, and when we first moved here all fourteen year old kids could get a drivers license. Hell, when I was a kid even in statist Colorado as long as you had a truck and access to a bale of straw you could get a license at 14 too. Well sometime between when we moved here and now the state decided they needed a new “Graduated Drivers License Law”. Now I hate any Malun prohibitum laws to begin with but with this new law in order to let the kids enjoy the freedom of travel we use to have they have to shell out $300 and sit through several weeks of government “education”. What the fuck! We won’t do it.

Someone Keeps Moving My Chair!

This is my first foray into Etymology but it is necessitated by several events, it all started really bothering me years ago when I found out that the word “Liberal” has two definitions which are at complete odds with each other. (more…)

One of the local ladies I see at the saloon occasionally told me she was taking out her 24 year old gooseberry bushes. Last year I thinned her raspberries and she asked if I wanted them. Well I finished digging the last one out yesterday, I had to dig a hole 20″ in diameter, they were that big. Now, our raspberries won’t be lonely. Oh, and we had snow flurries this morning. 😦 we ran down and covered the baby plants in the lower beds with packing blankets.
